I insisted that Edward drop me off to paint on this very, very dark dirt road about 5km from town and about 500m from the Air BnB where we were staying. We were to paint a nocturne with little light, other than the moon and a reading light. I use a dual-style reading light that wraps around my neck. I guess it looks like two bright eyes if you looked towards me. I can barely distinguish colours in the dark! About 2/3 through my painting, I heard a rustle, and grunt or snort from behind me in the woods. It sent shivers up my spine -- not what you want to hear when alone on a very dark dirt road! I don't know if it was a deer, a coyote, or a bear! If it was a bear would it run or would it attack those lights wrapped about my head? I wasn't waiting around to find out! I hurried to finish, pack up and walk back to our Air BnB. I set the dogs off as I approached the place. The owner rushed out and helped me in. I must have looked a sight wearing my huge backpack, a hat, dual "headlights", carrying my easel, artist's flag, and painting. So, I titled my nocturne "I Might Have Heard a Bear".
