Birches in Snow

Birches in snow always attract me. Stillness and quiet invade my senses yet sounds of birds or wind seem amplified in this setting. This reminds me of the time I was contracted to study tracks in snow (search & rescue) and spent a whole winter in Ontario moving through the wooded snow lands on snowshoe, skis, and snow mobile. My watercolour was painted from a photograph taken by Gary Tucker of Boston.
