Tidal Rhythms Through the Woods

This watercolour was created during the Parrsboro International Plein Air Festival.

Driving along the gravelly Hatfield Road this morning, I viewed the Fox River Estuary through the woods beside the road. The contrast of the silhouetted trunks and branches was striking against the wetlands and intertidal flats far below. The Bay of Fundy was seen towards the horizon. It was as if I was looking through a naturally-created, stained glass image.
