Sailboats enjoy the breezes of the Northwest Arm in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This afternoon was warm, so I painted in the shade of large pines that overlooked the waterway. While painting, I enjoyed the distant laughter of youth at the nearby sailing school. A few pine needles fell into my paint puddles and interrupted the flow of my work a couple of times. Anne walked down the path to the other end of Point Pleasant Park but decided to back track when the winds gusted in the open areas of the park. Luckily, I had found "my spot" within minutes of arriving.
This piece was created en plein air with a limited colour palette, some ink and a touch of charcoal.
