Roses by the Sea

After a brief picnic lunch, I got a rock for my bag and anchored my easel, and turned my view 90degrees from the view I painted in the morning. Along the sea there is a hedge of rugosa roses, loaded with blooms and bees. The scent was wonderful and I loved the play of colours against the blue of the ocean and the blue of the sky. It was a very hot July day, reaching in the 30’s C. But the wind off the ocean kept us cool.
