Rushing Stream in Late October

We went painting during the last week of October on a very cold day (6°C and windy). We had good sunlight and it was the last good day to capture fall colours. I set out to paint this stream, full of rapids and rocks, with lovely maple trees swooping low over the water. The leaves were falling quickly that day, and I stood ankle-deep in newly fallen leaves. In fact, leaves fell on my palette and shoulder while I painted.
