At the Peggy's Cove Inlet

Coastal fog had lifted about 30 minutes prior to my painting this coastal scene in Nova Scotia. Peggy's Cove is noted for its iconic lighthouse and boulder shoreline. Signs warn visitors to avoid the "black rocks". It's these that are slippery and, when wet, can cause people to be caught and dragged by high waves into the ocean. Peggy's Cove is also probably the most photographed tourist site in the Province. This weekend is a "Paint Peggy's Cove" art event. We chose to paint ahead of the event, while the crowds are not around.
