Halfway River

Halfway River lies north of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. The bridge on which we were painting overlooked a quietly flowing stream in the middle of a large grassy, wet flatland. A farmer passed us by and told us that many years ago he was able to grow and harvest hay with his machinery. No more. The land has changed. The reflection in the sky appealed to me. In a couple of weeks, I imagine the hills in the distance would be lit in fall colours.
