Take in the Laundry

This was my Quick Draw entry into PIPAF 2025 (Parrsboro International Plein Air Festival). Judge, Poppy Balser, honoured me with third prize for which I am humbled. There were amazing entries in the competition. What added to my delight was the sale of my artwork within about 90 seconds of it being displayed. The buyer told me she was fascinated with laundry lines. Who knew?

I immediately chose this disjointed backyard scene knowing that an approaching rain storm would inundate the area within about two hours (I also like backyards). Not only did I escape the downpour by ten minutes, I captured the laundry in time before the clothes were removed. Sometimes things just click.
