Walkway at Dollar Lake

Many lakes scatter across the rocky terrain of Nova Scotia. Dollar Lake lies in wooded topography, about 20 km south of Halifax International Airport. An onshore, sometimes stiff breeze had me put on my light jacket. We arrived early to stake out our paint-out locations. I love nature but I seem attracted to some element of human structure in my scene. Even a fence post would do. These human features help me tell a story. Here, two visitors enjoy a chat on the walkway spanning some wetland -- connecting a public beach to the left and a camp ground area to the right. As I painted, many families made use of the walkway. Three plein air artists met today to paint.
