Bandstand Park in Lunenburg

Lunenburg is a recognized UNESCO heritage site. During the second World War, Lunenburg hosted "Camp Norway" as a military training base for soldiers. North Atlantic Norwegian whalers were redirected to Lunenburg when Germany invaded Norway. A sailor from Australia once remarked to me that this town had the most picturesque town scene on entering its harbour. On this morning, I chose to paint at the bandstand park area and capture the town's courthouse and one of its many churches. The air was warm but fresh and the park was relatively quiet for this time of year.
